DROWNING POOL Kicks Off Fifth USO Tour in Support of Our Troops

Drowning Pool - USO

It’s no secret that multi-platinum hard rockers DROWNING POOL support our troops in a big way. Today, the band heads out on their fifth USO tour to perform and visit with service members stationed at Andersen Air Force Base (April 6, Guam), Kadena Air Base (April 8, Japan) and Camp Foster (April 9, Japan). This particular visit is in conjunction with the USO’s Campaign to Connect.

Whether inviting service members to an album release party or donating proceeds from album sales to the USO, DROWNING POOL is always there to support the men and women of our military, who protect us. DROWNING POOL has volunteered with the USO for 11 years and has incredibly strong family ties to the military.  Guitarist C.J. Pierce’s father-in-law served in the Navy, bassist Stevie Benton’s father is a Vietnam veteran and drummer Mike Luce’s brother currently serves. As a result of those personal connections, the band has entertained more than tens of thousands of service members on 14 military bases in five countries, to date. DROWNING POOL has traveled with the USO, performing to troops in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Iraq and Kuwait.

Guitarist C.J. Pierce states, “We love giving back, it’s the least we can do. … There are a lot of families involved in the armed forces and we love giving them a hand. It’s definitely great for us to go overseas and play at different bases. I think 2005 was our first one (Iraq and Kuwait) and it’s personal for us. Each one of us has someone in our family somewhere in the armed forces and it’s all about those friends and families.”

This year marks the USO’s 75th anniversary and the official kickoff of not only a yearlong celebration around the world, but also the USO’s Campaign to Connect, a new digital message platform designed to show appreciation to those who serve.  DROWNING POOL joins the USO in its mission of connection and commitment to strengthening America’s service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country.  Visit to learn how you can join DROWNING POOL as they help the USO deliver more than 1 million messages of support to service members and their families worldwide.

In addition to their USO tour dates, DROWNING POOL will visit a few select countries on their return route. Also, the band has several confirmed U.S. performance dates lined up. See below for all confirmed tour dates in addition to the USO dates above:

Founded in 2004 by Christina “Lady Rose” Palmer with Thomas “The Beast” Blardo joining in 2014, Metal Fortress has shown drive, determination and expertise in the area of radio by doing more than just playing songs. Metal Fortress has become a staple in New England as the frontrunner in scouting unsigned artists while pushing to help promote local New England bands. Metal Fortress heard the call and has stepped up to fill the void after major Loud Rock FM stations in the region switched over to Classic Rock and other non-metal programming.

With its popularity skyrocketing in March 2014, the audience demanded for Metal Fortress Radio more than once per week. WMFR-DB Metal Fortress Radio, a 24 hour online internet station, was born. WMFR-DB is located in Hartford, CT and can be streamed on all mobile devices and computers worldwide.

Metal Fortress Radio is no stranger to promotion and partnerships. Over the past year, they have teamed up with White-Light Entertainment Inc. to expand the horizons of Metal Fortress Radio and its events in New York City. Metal Fortress partnered on production of an event for Stallone’s movie “Creed” and are working on a future fashion event at Trump Tower in NYC by Tia Maria, which will feature fashion by New Jersey Housewives’ Kim D’s Poche.

In addition, Metal Fortress is also creating Operation Fortress Freedom, a non-profit lead by longtime friend Jamie Amenta. This is a project near and dear to Christina and Tommy’s heart, as their son is currently serving his second tour in Afghanistan. To start the project, Metal Fortress have provided gifts to the families of troops, monetary support to the soldiers overseas for goods needed and sending care packages of supplies and merchandise donated by many touring bands.

Trapt promo pic

Chart-topping hard rock group TRAPT are set to release their upcoming sixth studio album DNA via Crash Collide this coming spring. The record churns out a refreshed, melodic sound that will absolutely transform TRAPT‘s current musical landscape and the style fans have learned to associate with the band.
Today, the band is pleased to reveal the brand new music video for their track “It’s Over”. The track marks the third single and second music video released by the band in anticipation of DNA. Watch here via Loudwire:

You can buy the track now via iTunes.

The “It’s Over” video was directed by Vicente Cordero with Industrialism Films and filmed in downtown Los Angeles.

TRAPT lead singer Chris Taylor Brown states, “It’s Over” is about respecting yourself and realizing that you are worth more than the person you are with is acknowledging. Sometimes you have to close one door to open another and this song embodies the frustration and the pain involved in a relationship that does not go both ways. When you respect yourself enough to walk away from a relationship with no respect, you will find someone who accepts you for you who are and gives you back everything you give to them. So cut that cord and close that door for yourself first and foremost.”

TRAPT will kick off their upcoming U.S. headline tour on December 1st in Tucson, AZ! The tour will feature special guests Adakain, First Decree and Meka Nism on select dates.

During the tour, TRAPT will perform four Toys for Tots shows that will grant attendees free entry with the donation of an unwrapped present. Chris Taylor Brown states, “One of the most powerful aspects of being in a band and being able to create music is the ability to change lives and we wanted to do something different this holiday season and help put a big smile on as many youngster’s faces as we could this Christmas. Partnering up with our friends in rock radio and Toys for Tots is the greatest way we could think of to make that happen!”

TRAPT is playing their Toys for Tots shows December 4th in Little Rock, Arkansas at The Revolution Room with 100.3 The Edge, December 5th in Springfield, Missouri at Outland Ballroom with Q102, December 12th in Flint, Michigan at The Machine Shop with Banana 101.5 and December 17th in Syracuse, NY at Lost Horizon with 95X.
