“Time to pull the blankets over your heads, GHOST is back!” – Dom R. Maximum Threshold Radio

“Ghost is back cracking skulls” –NOISEY

LINKÖPING, SWEDEN – JULY 17, 2015 – Ghost today announced the arrival of “From The Pinnacle To The Pit” from their forthcoming third sacred psalm, Meliora. The song is available to stream HERE and will be available for instant download for those who pre-order the album, along with the previously released track “Cirice”. Meliora is due out on August 21st on Loma Vista Recordings and is the follow up to 2013’s heralded INFESTISSUMAM.

“We always have had a craving for a truly stomping riff-based song, Led Zeppelin style. Something that would sound great coming out of a car stereo standing at an American high school parking lot” – A nameless ghoul, regarding “From The Pinnacle To The Pit”

Papa Emeritus III and his nameless ghouls will return to North American to deliver their satanic melodies to audiences across the continent this fall for their ‘Black To The Future’ headlining tour. The procession begins at The Fillmore in Washington, DC on September 22nd. See below for a complete itinerary.

Ghost released their second album INFESTISSUMAM on April 16th, 2013 via Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-song offering was produced by Grammy® Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains) in Nashville, TN and debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart. SPIN called the album, “one of the most anticipated heavy metal albums of 2013” and Pitchfork praised its “addictive as sin” hooks. Rolling Stone described their sound as “somewhere between Mastodon and Metallica, with a heavy dose of Swedish synth mixed in.” In November of 2013, the band released If You Have Ghost, a five track EP recorded and produced by Dave Grohl, including cover versions of songs by Roky Erickson, ABBA, Army of Lovers, and Depeche Mode. Ghost have toured the U.S. Extensively and appeared at various music festivals across the country, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Rock on the Range.

Early praise for Meliora…

“A perfect occult Metal mass” 7 out of 7 – Metal Hammer

“This is how you make a masterpiece!”Maximum Threshold Radio

“The record is yet another creative giant leap forward for the group, mixing up in various and fascinating ways ’70s-era psychedelic and prog rock, unhinged doom metal and classic AOR balladry – all of it informed by a pronounced, sophisticated pop consciousness that yields ear candy-like hooks that last for days.” – Music Radar

DOWNFALL 2012 – Tour continues with Otep and ReAktion

DOWNFALL 2012 (photo by Timothy M. Rader)

July 11, 2015 marked the invasion by the band DOWNFALL 2012. Headlining the bill was Otep, supporting bands included ReAktion and Silo. This was one intense show. The power stricken band Silo riled the audience up and left a trail of destruction. Olathia, the new metal band from Cleveland which has strong veteran roots delivered a performance that is still being talked about. Olathia is one of those bands whom you should really check out and give them a chance to soak into your soul. ReAktion did not leave the stage without everyone knowing who the hell they were. A great international touring band that has the opportunity to be a headliner. Their music is infectious and will having you singing along with them along with destroying the venue you are at.

Downfall 2012 is one of those bands that you know that when you go to check them out they will no doubt get the blood pumping. Severe and intense driven these guys suck you into them. Such a great band with so much potential and opportunity to get to the next level. Armed with a powerful frontman and precise performers this band set out to annihilate the Cleveland Agora and that they indeed do. A 5 star performance from a band that everyone should know about or at least have on their radar.

jh1WHITESNAKE’S GUITARIST JOEL HOEKSTRA TO RELEASE : “DYING TO LIVE” on Frontier Records October 16, 2015 World-Wide

Joel Hoekstra
Joel Hoekstra

HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 29, 2015) Joel Hoekstra has announced the release of his new melodic hard rock studio album “Dying To Live” from his electrifying new side project, Joel Hoekstra’s 13. Hoekstra is best known to rock fans as the currrent guitarist for Whitesnake, and also known for his work with Night Ranger, Trans Siberian Orchestra and the show Rock of Ages.

Dying To Live features an all-star cast of rockers including Jeff Scott Soto (vocals), Russell Allen (vocals), Tony Franklin (bass), Vinny Appice (drums), and Derek Sherinian (keyboards), and will be available via Frontiers Music SRL on Friday, October 16th.

Hoekstra took charge of the creative process by handling the production, song writing and arranging (music and lyrics). The end result could best be described as hard, melodic, classic rock that is Dio’ish at its heaviest and Foreigner’ish at its lightest.

“Years ago, I released three solo albums that were mainly instrumental guitar music. I wanted to put something out that showcased my production, writing and playing in the genre that I’m known for, which is melodic, hard rock’’, explains Hoekstra. ‘’That’s when I decided to start what I consider to be my rock side project, Joel Hoekstra’s 13. Dying To Live focuses on struggles, potential pitfalls and the art of overcoming obstacles in life to finally arrive where we are meant to be.’’

Dying To Live was conceived before Hoekstra joined Whitesnake. David Coverdale gave the album his full blessing. “David wants his players to spread their wings and fly and of course be ready to rock when Whitesnake needs them, which obviously won’t be an issue.”

Dom Rini and Joel Hoekstra

Excited how the new album turned out, Hoekstra is looking forward to the overall reaction from fans and media. “I hope everyone will give it a listen. I feel it showcases my production, writing and playing in the genre I’m best known for thèse days. The line-up of musicians is stellar! I want to thank everyone for any support in advance. Life is good!

MOTHERSHIP invades Cleveland

July 21st marked the return of the rockin’ band MOTHERSHIP. This show was indeed a powerfest which also included on the bill Detroit’s “Wilson” and PA’s bad asses “CROBOT”.

Bishop of Crobot joins Mothership on stage

Mothership’s music was severely infectious and the straight up hard rock anthemic music swooshed the audience and fans which were intensely feeling the music. Song after song the band delivered knock out blows. If you are not familiar with Mothership, the music can sort of be described as a modern 70’s guitar driven hard rock band. Fronted by Kyle Juett the bass player he really was able to bring the audience along with them for the ride that night. During one point of the show Chris Bishop from Crobot joined the guys for a sweet rockin song filled with insane solos.
