RINGWORM Announce New Album ‘Snake Church’, Share Title Track Music Video

Ringworm 2016-06-01

Legendary Cleveland quintet RINGWORM have just announced their 8th full-length album Snake Church, a 12-track, 30+ minute testament of vicious aggression. After having converted metalheads and hardcore fans alike with their intense, no-holds-barred live shows and consistently punishing albums over the course of the last 25+ years, RINGWORM once again prove that they are in a league of their own when it comes to face-breaking sonic fury. Recorded and produced by Ben Schigel (Chimaira, ZAO) at Spider Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Xibalba, Black Breath), Snake Church obliterates the listener and never relents, leaving nothing but bile and bone in its wake. Album art and a full tracklist are available below.

Watch the official music video for the title track “Snake Church” now here.

Snake Churchis due out this July 29 on CD/LP/Digital via Relapse. Physical pre-orders can be found at this location, and digital pre-orders are available via the band’s Bandcamp page here.

Ever since emerging from the Cleveland metal underground, RINGWORM has garnered the immediate attention of hardcore and metal fans. RINGWORM displays an awesome ferocity in the power of its instruments, and vocalist the Human Furnace uses his voice as a tool to extract the diabolical nature of anyone who hears it. The band has toured with dozens of prominent metal and hardcore acts over the years, ranging from Hatebreed and Converge to Goatwhore, Napalm Death, Voivod, and Eyehategod.

RINGWORM was spawned in 1991 from the metal scene in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1993, the band released The Promise (Incision Records), finding their place amongst other hardcore metal heavyweights such as Integrity and Earth Crisis. However, despite this early success, RINGWORM decided to pursue personal ventures: the Human Furnace concentrated his focus on tattooing and his artwork, while other members joined up with hardcore legends Integrity. Nearly 10 years later, 2001 saw RINGWORM emerge from their hiatus with their critically-acclaimed Victory Records debut Birth Is Pain. Extensive touring followed. The band continued on a steadily upward trajectory, honing its craft and releasing the well-received albums Justice Replaced By Revenge (2005), The Venomous Grand Design, (2007), and Scars (2011) via Victory over the course of the next decade.

In 2013, RINGWORM signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records and released yet another testament to their sheer brutality. 2014’s Hammer Of The Witch helped elevate the band far beyond underground circles, cementing RINGWORM‘s reputation as a hardcore / metal heavyweight and garnering praise from by a wide range of publications worldwide including Pitchfork, MetalSucks, and Revolver. 2016 is poised to be a breakout year for RINGWORM with the impending release of the band’s eighth full-length, Snake Church.

Hailing from South Jersey, COGNITIVE combine technicality, mind-bending groove, searing guitar solos, and brutally abstract song writing; COGNITIVE continue to push themselves outside of the box, while maintaining a sheer brutal edge.

Revocation to release new album, ‘Great Is Our Sin’, on July 22nd; first single, “Communion”, streaming now; exclusive pre-order bundles available

Revocation - Great Is Our Sin

Having delivered five killer albums boasting some of the most potent, technical and abrasive metal unleashed over the last decade, it would be easy for Revocation to sit back and rest upon their laurels. However, with their constant drive to push their sound ever forward and refusal to compromise their integrity, this could never be the case – and Great Is Our Sin is their most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date.

Great Is Our Sin is slated for a July 22nd release date via Metal Blade Records. The first song from the album, entitled “Communion”, is available for streaming starting today. Head to to get a first listen to the track and pre-order your copy of Great Is Our Sin today!

Front-man Dave Davidson commented about the first track: “‘Communion’ is the fastest song we’ve recorded to date, and while it’s blistering in terms of speed, there are also some proggy elements present to add contrast to the aggression.”

When it came time for the follow-up to 2014’s Deathless, the quartet had their work cut out for them, and their response to the challenge is a record that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Never forcing anything, the songs that would comprise Great Is Our Sin came together organically, and while the members being spread all around North America would have been an impediment to some, Revocation drew strength from it.

Reuniting with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Bleeding Through), who also helmed Deathless and 2012’s Teratogenesis EP, the record packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived. Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting.

While the songs come together to make for a cohesive record that is engaging from front to back, they are further united by the lyrical concept penned by Davidson. The title itself appropriated from Charles Darwin’s quote: “If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin”, Davidson went about building a theme that was not only fittingly expansive, but also had real resonance with regard to contemporary society. “The concept revolves around the folly of man throughout the ages. Some themes come from historical references that are hundreds of years old, yet sadly these themes are still very relevant today due to mankind’s refusal to learn from the lessons history has taught us, time and time again.”

Regardless of the state of the world, nothing is going to slow Revocation down any time soon. Whilst the lineup has changed over the ten years the band has been in existence, Davidson’s passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future. “We can’t wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world. ‘Great Is Our Sin‘ is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date.”

Great Is Our Sin track-listing:
1. Arbiters of The Apocalypse
2. Theatre of Horror
3. Monolithic Ignorance
4. Crumbling Imperium
5. Communion
6. The Exaltation
7. Profanum Vulgus
8. Copernican Heresy
9. Only the Spineless Survive
